BIOL 304Pre-Health Biochemistry (LEC)

Considers cellular chemistry and its relationship to physiology, focusing on carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. The structure, function and regulation of membranes, receptors, and transporters will be explored along with the intracellular enzymes and metabolites active in signaling pathways. Prerequisites: BIOL 113 or 118 and CHEM 332. Biochemistry majors are NOT permitted to take BIOL 304 for credit. Students who have credit for BIOL/BCHM 403 or BIOL 502 cannot receive credit for BIOL 304. This course has a wait list. Once you are on the wait list, you cannot change your section or re-enroll in the course, even if seats appear to be available. If you do so, you risk being dropped and losing your place in line.
