Catalog description

ARTS 412 “Typography 3” is intended to expand and build upon ARTS 300, ARTS 305, and ARTS 400, to broaden the students’ design experience and complement upper level design classes. Creative thinking, exploring design concepts and using the computer as a tool in the design process will be addressed. Emphasis will be placed on collaboration, teamwork and critique of work in progress. Editing will be done on the Macintosh platform using the Adobe Creative Cloud and other workflow related software. Topics covered will include applications of type in brand identity, web and interface design, packaging design, editorial design, and poster design. Additionally students will explore prototyping in print and web production, troubleshooting files, production terminology and communication skills. Prerequisite: ARTS 210, 300, 305, and 400 Class is offered regularly. Course fee applies. Refer to the Schedule of Classes.
