Catalog description

This course will provide the essential technical skills used in historical and contemporary printmaking. Through exploration, application and independent research, the student will have the opportunity to develop a portfolio that utilizes advanced silkscreen and relief printmaking methods. The student will be introduced to large format printing, color separation and registration techniques, various surface materials, and both digital and traditional printmaking processes. This is a unique course and will be individually tailored for the printmaking student. Students will have the ability to choose the printmaking methods best suited for theory-based work after researching both concepts and methods. Students may integrate all learned techniques in the printing process. Prerequisites: ARTS 171 or ARTS 251 or ARTS 254 or ARTS 255.
