Catalog description

This course provides a foundation in the practices and materials associated with painting, and prepares students to work in oil-based media. The class examines both traditional and contemporary applications of media. Classic problems in painting, concentrating on form, color, space with related subject matter still life, landscape and figure are addressed through individual instruction based on student’s experience and needs. Recommended: ARTS 171. This class is offered fall and spring semesters.
