Course addresses the history, theory, and methods of experimental archaeology. Experimental archaeology has been invaluable in archaeological interpretation, and an understanding of how this field has developed is useful in multiple aspects of the interpretation of material culture. In this class, students can expect to learn how to design and carry out an archaeological experiment, as well as learn the limits of experimentation in a range of material specialties.
