Catalog description

To perform in any business-related field including accounting, finance, information systems, marketing, etc. you must have an awareness of the US income tax system. The goal of this course is to achieve this awareness of the US Income tax system as it relates to individuals and business. The first half of the course we will review the essential tax rules that relate to individuals and business entities. We will then learn the basics of individual income taxation and then finish up with a introduction into C-Corporation business taxation. The course will focus on learning the routine and recurring aspects of income tax law, and to be able to analyze it and apply it to common financial decisions. Prerequisite ACCT 312. Offered in the fall and spring semesters.
