Catalog description
This course explores gendered images, identities, roles, and experiences in Korea, primarily from the late 19th Century to the present. In particular, it examines how gender was reconstituted and renegotiated over time in the context of larger historical processes of social, political, economic, and cultural change. Constructions of femininity as well as masculinity will be addressed. No prerequisites.
