The course surveys issues related to marriage and family in contemporary society. Content includes the nature of relationships and crises such as divorce and family violence. SOC 2090 The Study of Marriage and Family (3 hours) An exploration of familial life including marriage and the search for a life partner. Topics include the need for relationships, challenges faced by traditional, non-traditional, nuclear, and non-nuclear families, and methods of coping after experiencing a familial crisis.
