Catalog description
This course introduces the student to normal and abnormal findings noted during physical assessment found in persons age young adult and older. The focus of the course will be on the assessment phase of the nursing process and the development of skills needed to perform physical assessment while considering psychosocial and cultural backgrounds. The topics of interviewing, utilizing therapeutic communication, and teaching health promotion behaviors will be discussed and practiced.
