The course provides a framework for understanding e-commerce, including possible marketing opportunities, as well as implementation and organization issues involved in capitalizing on e-commerce. 122 | Bethel University Course Descriptions Catalog 2021-2022 IT 4550 Emerging Technologies (3 hours) This course will explore the current and potential future impact of new and emerging technologies on organizations and examine any disruptions, opportunities, threats, or challenges of these new technologies on business operations. The student will analyze new emerging technologies to achieve a better understanding of how new technologies will impact the regulatory, legal, security, privacy, and ethical issues within the organization. IT 4560 Understanding Enterprise Architecture (3 hours) This course will examine the use of an Enterprise Architecture within an organization, and its strategic role in creating a holistic view of the technology framework. Students will examine the planning, designing, and implementing of an Enterprise Architecture, as the foundation to optimize the IT infrastructure to align with business objectives. Students will also analyze how EA is used in a business to achieve, support, and sustain a competitive advantage. mArketing MKT 4000 Marketing Research (3 hours) This course exposes students to the role of research as a function of marketing, including theories and techniques appropriate for business settings. Emphasis will be placed on research objectives and design, data collection and analysis, interpretation of market information, and prepara - tion of research reports for managerial decision-making. MKT 4010 Strategic Marketing (3 hours) This course cultivates the analytical and decision-making skills necessary for the development of effective marketing strategies in relation to orga- nizational strategic planning. Students will combine the knowledge of various marketing activities involved in planning, organizing, and managing the marketing processes. MKT 4020 Advertising and Promotion (3 hours) This course introduces the theory and practice of advertising and other promotional elements related to the development of an integrated marketing communication strategy.
