Discussion of novels and short stories, examining characters and their values, and responses in the face of complex life situations. Insights of narrative theologians used to think about building character as individuals and the role of the community in this process. Prerequisites: Senior standing; [ GES 149 or GES 160 ]; THE 201 ; [Contemporary Western Life and Thought (L) course or Comparative Systems (G) course] or World Cultures (U) course].
