Catalog description

A laboratory course focused on careful measurements of physical properties such as temperature, pressure, stress, force, emissivity, and vibration modes. Emphasis placed on experimental methods, statistical estimates of experimental uncertainty, methods of calibration, transducers for mechanical measurement, data acquisition and processing. Appropriate written and oral presentations of measurements. Prerequisites: ENR 304 ; MAT 223 ; PHY 296 / PHY 297 . Offered: Spring, even # years.
