Catalog description

Introduction to how special education and general education systems relate. Identifies functional behavioral assessments processes and principles of individual and school-wide systems of supports. Demonstrates how evidence-based instruction can be adapted. Explores co-teaching models. Identifies how required curricular components direct instruction. Analysis of positive instructional environments. Description of outside resources and supports. Prerequisites: EDU 200 / EDU 201 and Major or minor in one of the following programs: k-6 elementary education, communication arts and literature education 5-12, mathematics education 5-12, social studies education 5-12, special education k-12 academic behavioral strategist, music education k-12, elementary and special education integrated major, special education. Offered: Fall, Spring.
