Catalog description

Emphasizes product design. Developing a mechanical component design problem. Selecting standard mechanical components such as bearings, gears, springs, and fasteners. Analysis and synthesis of motion in machines. Displacement, velocity, and acceleration of mechanisms. Introduction to lubrication theory, flexible mechanical elements, and power transmissions. Prerequisites: ENR 356 / ENR 357 . Offered: Spring, even # years. Special Notes: PHY 340 is a recommended prerequisite.
