Catalog description

This course will study past human cultures and societies as evidenced by material remains. This course provides information on the basic theories, methods, and techniques used in archaeology. Important topics include archaeological survey and excavation, artifact analysis, dating techniques, conservation and display of artifacts, dietary reconstruction, the analysis of prehistoric social and political organization, and the evolution of cities and ancient civilizations.
