Catalog description

Open to Social Work Majors only. This course, the first of three practice courses in the social work curriculum, is an overview of generalist social work practice at the individual, or micro, level of intervention. Students will explore the knowledge, values, and skills associated with working in direct practice with individuals. Students will learn to effectively engage, assess, and intervene in the context of diverse practice environments in order to provide competent and culturally responsive services to individuals.
