Social Movements and Social Change

Catalog description

The core theme of this course is a focus on the power of people to change the world around them through collective action. In particular, we will study social movements committed to the principles of non-violence, and look at the ways in which “average people” have worked for social change. We will also study movement processes and outcomes as we work to understand the ways in which we are called to be in solidarity with others, and to work toward justice.
