Catalog description

Whether we listen to music while studying, driving, cleaning, or showering, we typically do so to help us relax and improve our mood. As such, music plays a vital role in our everyday lives. In this course, students will learn about the interplay between music and the neurocognitive domains of Memory and Attention. This course will discuss how music affects memory both positively and negatively, and the effects music can have on our attentional networks. The course emphasizes the scientific methods of Psychological Science and incorporates active learning experiences via the laboratory component. Students cannot receive academic credit for both PSY 1250 and PSY 1240. Course fee: $50.00
