Catalog description

This course will present the both physical and chemical principles of physiological events occurring in biological cells. Principles covered include permeation, carrier-based transport, ion channels, ion pumps, complex membrane phenomena, electrical properties of the nerve axon, cellular communication, and cell homeostasis. Mathematical modeling of biophysical phenomena is introduced.
