MGT 3300
Nonprofit Management
Belmont University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course examines the role of nonprofits in the United States and the impact of the sector. There are approximately 1.5 million 501(c)(3) charitable organizations registered in the United States by the Internal Revenue Service. These organizations address some of the nation’s most pressing social problems with 25% of the population volunteering over 60 million hours per year to assist nonprofits in meeting their missions. A Nashville MSA 2022 Nonprofit Economic Impact Study “revealed the presence of a healthy nonprofit sector that brings in a significant amount of money into the Nashville MSA.” This course provides social entrepreneurship and many other majors the opportunity to learn more about how nonprofits operate and the process of starting a nonprofit if that is their desire.
