Catalog description

This course will encourage students to utilize their critical thinking skills as they learn about stereotypes, perceptions, bias and prejudice. They will analyze different populations and how those groups are represented on the news and in the media including but not limited to television, radio, newspapers, Internet, cable and satellite. Further, students will begin to address their own attitudes and feelings based on their experience and exposure to different people, cultures and beliefs. Course formerly listed as MDS 3100
