Sophomore standing or permission of instructor. This course examines the history of the United States since World War II, with a special focus on the Cold War. The course will examine American foreign policy, but also will consider cultural, social, political, and intellectual developments as they relate to the international scene. Students will explore the ways in which Americans have influenced, and have been influenced by, global developments in the recent past.
