Research Methods or Junior standing in a creative discipline (recommended) This advanced course introduces students to research methodologies used to understand the cultural, social, and historical contexts that inform creative practice. Emphasizing critical thinking, ethical inquiry, and qualitative analysis, students learn to design and conduct contextual research projects using methods such as ethnography, trend analysis, archival research, and audience studies. The course examines how research insights inform design, branding, storytelling, and strategic decision-making. Students synthesize findings into evidence-based recommendations and communicate complex ideas effectively to professional and academic audiences, supporting innovation and informed creative practice.
