An overview of practical security problems will be explored and students will identify a balance between real-world risks and rewards against the overhead cost of available security techniques via case studies. Topics will include system and network security, basic cryptography concepts, common attacks, threat and vulnerabilities, mitigation techniques, risk management, and enterprises’ legal and ethical issues.
