Catalog description

Students in this course will explore characteristics of varied materials and textiles used in the design industries to specify for application in design. They will understand the attributes of fibers and fiber properties, yarn, fabric construction, and textile color and surface design. Students will be introduced to sustainable practices associated with textiles and materials in the industry. They will understand government regulations related to application in specific scenarios and will test burn rates, durability, chemical reactions, and dyeing and surface design properties to equip them with industry knowledge.
