Catalog description

This course introduces students to practices necessary for designers to solve complex problems. Students will discover systems of thinking that allow designers to contextualize, analyze, and synthesize information related to those complex issues. Emerging designers will learn to see the world through a unique lens - to evaluate two-dimensional and three-dimensional designs considering organizational data used in the across the disciplines. Students will learn basic sketching techniques using the Elements and Principles of Design. Finally, students in various design programs will learn about career-specific opportunities within their respective fields. The course concludes with a reflective analysis using both graphic and written communication methods.
