Catalog description

This course will illustrate advanced epidemiology principles and methods related to epidemiological investigation of health-related events, states, and processes. Topics include: examining the dynamic behavior of disease; calculating and interpreting rates, ratios and proportions, assessing validity and reliability of diagnostic and screening tests, and evaluating of health services and screening programs. Various epidemiological study designs for investigating associations between risk factors and disease outcomes will also be analyzed, culminating with criteria for casual inferences.
