Catalog description
Corequisites: ARC 2021 Exploration of the relationships between architecture and site, with emphasis on the natural, environmental, cultural, and regulatory forces that shape development. Topics include topography, climate, solar access, hydrology, vegetation, zoning, access, and site capacity as determinants of building placement and land use. Sustainability issues address environmental impact, resource efficiency, and strategies that support responsive design, human health and comfort, and long-term site performance. The course includes exercises in site analysis and graphic representation for site planning and documentation.
