Space and Representation Studio

Catalog description

Through a sequence of structured exercises grounded in direct observation, students engage in drawing, analytical study, and three-dimensional exploration of the surrounding world. Emphasis is placed on scale, proportion, and the relationship between object and space. Students are introduced to a range of descriptive, analytical, and representational media to support the development of critical thinking and design process. These include freehand drawing, orthographic projection, axonometric and paraline drawing, and introductory materials investigation. The course establishes core habits of inquiry, iteration, and craft that support subsequent architectural design studios. Cross Listed with ITD 1003
