Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce the foundation of radiography and the technologist’s role in the delivery of healthcare. Also discussed are health care institutions’ policies, practices, and principles. This course will examine the importance of patient care, including consideration for the patient’s physical and psychological needs. Routine and emergency patient care procedures are described, as well as infection control procedures using standard precautions. The roll of the radiographer in patient education is identified. Simulations and demonstrations will be performed to teach proper patient transfer techniques.
