Catalog description

This course presents the basic laws which govern the behavior of the physical world, concentrating on the basic mechanics of visible objects. Included in this study are the concepts of velocity, acceleration, force, energy, heat, and angular motion. Late in the course, these principles are applied to wave motion, including the physics of sound waves, and to fluids. Concepts and calculations are presented using algebraic methods. Hands-on laboratory work is an essential element of the course. (3 credit hrs lecture, 1 credit hr lab)
