Catalog description
Students analyze current issues and strategies in transportation management and policy. Global carrier management problems and opportunities, and economic characteristics of the various modes of transportation are studied. Students micro-analyze transportation and logistics management including customer service and order fulfillment, distribution operations, purchasing or operation of transportation services, warehousing, third-party logistics providers, and network design. The course includes a focus on distribution operations, purchasing, order processing, facility design and operations, carrier selection, transportation costing, and negotiation.
