Catalog description
This course equips students with practical skills in prompt engineering - the art and science of effectively communicating with Generative AI systems to achieve desired outcomes. Through weekly hands-on exercises and a final project, students will develop real-world applicable skills for leveraging Generative AI tools across various personal and professional contexts. The course emphasizes learning through practice that builds competency in crafting precise prompts, controlling Generative AI outputs, and implementing ethical guidelines. Students will also explore responsible use principles and security considerations when integrating Generative AI into workflows. Students will leave the class with immediately applicable skills that enhance productivity and problem-solving capabilities in any field where Generative AI is utilized. Prerequisite: CIS 125 Recommended.
