Catalog description

This course will prepare the student to perform cardiovascular and pulmonary assessments including medical history review, systems review, and physical examination skills such as measuring and interpreting vital signs and auscultation of lungs and heart. The course will also prepare students to develop evidence-informed and patient-centered physical therapy plans of care for individuals with cardiac and/or pulmonary conditions based on evaluative findings and modify plans of care based on patient response. The course will include lectures, laboratory activities, and case-based learning to prepare students to evaluate and treat patients with cardiovascular and/or pulmonary conditions across the lifespan and throughout the care continuum.
