Catalog description
Explores knowledge & competencies critical to the development of the professional nurse as a leader and manager in the provision of nursing care within complex systems of health care. Work environment safety, organizational structures and the impact of health policy, regulatory requirements & economics on care outcomes will be covered. Quality improvement tools and risk mitigation strategies that improve patient safety will be explored. Interpretation of performance metrics, benchmark, and outcome data to support quality care will be covered. (3 hrs. class per week)
