Catalog description

This course emphasizes nursing concepts of determinants of health, diversity, equity & inclusion, ethics and health policy in the development of interventions by interprofessional teams for improved health outcomes for vulnerable and underserved populations. Concepts of clinical judgement, communication and compassionate care will be applied to homelessness, immigration, disabilities, chronic illness, palliative and end-of-life care. Nursing spheres of care include disease prevention/health promotion, chronic disease care and hospice/palliative care. (3 class hrs. per week, 45 clinical hrs. per session)
