Catalog description

This course examines fundamental topics in cognitive development as they relate to the developing brain and nervous system. Topics include attention and perception, learning and memory, executive function, temperament and emotion regulation, language and cerebral lateralization, and social cognition. Developmental processes that contribute to these functions, such as neuroplasticity, sensitive periods, and context are considered. Prerequisite PSYC 240. PSYC 313 strongly recommended.
