This survey course provides learners with an introduction to 21st-century U.S. community colleges. Topics include, but are not limited to, the history of community colleges; the evolution of the community college mission; community college demographics; the teaching and learning environment and faculty culture; governance and finance; leadership and administration; and, analysis of the fundamental challenges facing community colleges as they adapt to the rapidly changing social, educational, and economic environment.
