Catalog description
This course is intended to provide graduate students with an introduction to statistical analyses in health professions education and research. Emphasis will be upon application of theory and concepts, and the interpretation of results. Content will include data and data files, data screening, scaling, and visual representations of data. Statistical methodologies addressed include descriptive statistics, correlation and t-tests. Within each of the methodologies their assumptions, diagnostics and presentation will also be addressed. Computer software (SPSS) will be employed to assist in the analysis of data for this course. Students should have access to a computer, SPSS software, and the Internet.
