Catalog description

This course explores the basic theories of teaching and learning, appropriate domains and taxonomies and instructional delivery methods in health professions education in both classroom and clinical environments. Instructional strategies that facilitate critical thinking and clinical reasoning and incorporate a variety of teaching and learning styles into health professions education programs will be explored and discussed. Ethical principles, integrity, and compliance issues associated with teaching and learning will be discussed and presented through individual and in class activities culminating in the development of a teaching and learning philosophy and effective syllabus construction.
