Death, Dying, and Grief

Catalog description

Grounded in current theory and research, this course is designed to facilitate student understanding of death, dying, and the grief process from a variety of individual and societal perspectives, including the patient and the patient's family. Students will analyze numerous end-of-life considerations, including available care and support for the patient and their family, and will apply classroom content in a practical learning setting. This course has been pre-approved by the Association for Child Life Professionals (ACLP) to partially fulfill the academic eligibility requirements needed to sit for the Child Life Specialist Certification exam.
