Catalog description
This course examines human energy metabolism during exercise. Principles of bioenergetics are approached from an applied perspective to develop a functional understanding of the metabolic response to various types of exercise and sport activities. Major topics include the bioenergetic pathways, fuel utilization during exercise, adaptations to exercise training, and processes of fatigue. Students will be empowered to apply these principles to sport specific conditioning and health related exercise programs.
