Catalog description

Content taught in this course revolves around the behavior of physical activity as it relates to health and wellness across the lifespan. Topics covered include: 1) population-specific guidelines for disease prevention and the attainment of substantial health-related outcomes; 2) scholarly investigation of current issues and trends in varying demographics over time; 3) approaches to assessing the unique and varied components physical activity in both individual and group-based settings; 4) the study of personal, social, and environmental determinants of behavioral engagement; and 5) the evaluation of strategies aimed at promoting behavioral adoption and maintenance.
