Sustainable Development

Catalog description

This course examines connections among environmental responsibility, social equity, economic vitality, and governance to achieve greater well-being for humans and the natural world in present and future generations. Local to international frames of reference will be considered as we examine environmental and societal consequences of green business practices, production and consumption, meeting human needs, food systems, energy policy, global climate change, urban planning, and rural development. The course involves substantial skill-building in root-cause analysis, problem-solving, sustainability metrics, and community-engaged learning.
