Catalog description

This course provides experience in spatial database design and spatial data analysis using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to examine environmental problems. Students will experience a hands-on introduction to GIS software and geographic databases, with emphasis on research methods and problem solving applications. A required laboratory component will focus on individually designed student projects. Three hours lecture, three hours laboratory time per week.
