Understanding Environ Systems

Catalog description

This class explores the interactions among the Earth's ecological systems and human systems to better understand systems dynamics and interventions that lead to a sustainable future. Students will integrate principles from the physical, biological, and social sciences as we examine causes and seek solutions for current environmental issues through critical analysis and examination of current events. Topics include natural resource conservation, sustainable development, agriculture and food systems, biodiversity, renewable energy, global climate change, environmental health, and environmental justice. Must be taken concurrently with ENVS 151L. Open to all majors.
