Economics is the study of how people choose when they face scarce resources to produce goods and services. The microeconomics course analyzes the private sector of the economy, emphasizing the decision-making process of consumers and business firms. The allocation of goods and services in a private enterprise system and the implications of market structure (pure competition, monopolistic competition, oligopoly, and monopoly) are also discussed.
