Catalog description
This course is designed to expand students' awareness about the visual and performing arts and their function in our society. Through guest lectures, class discussions, and attendance at local arts events, students will investigate the role of arts in modern society. In addition, the course provides an examination of the field of arts management, offering students the opportunity to learn first-hand from local arts administrators about the systems that control the artistic process (including the management and organizational structure of arts institutions, marketing challenges facing the arts, and audience development and outreach.)
