Catalog description

Prerequisite(s): Instructor permission from Director of Collaborative Piano and Ensemble Director are required. This course gives graduate students an opportunity to gain practical experience working as a collaborative pianist with orchestra. Collaborative skills of balance, ensemble, time management, and shared musical leadership are emphasized. Study methods specific to preparation of repertoire along with rehearsal techniques in a large ensemble are developed by playing in the rehearsals and performances under the instruction of the ensemble director.
