Catalog description
Prerequisite(s): C- or higher in JOU 2303 or JOU 3372 and JOU 3325. Introduction to foundational graphic design principles within the context of contemporary media landscapes. Students gain hands-on experience with the Adobe Creative Suite as well as other industry-leading tools like Figma. Through practical exercises, students learn core concepts of design and typography while exploring digital approaches to publishing for public relations, advertising and journalism. This entry-level course assumes little prior experience with professional tools, but provides a solid foundation for future design exploration.
